I started out in pensions as a part-qualified actuary, where a significant part of the work involved validating complex pension scheme member data before running actuarial models to value liabilities. Getting the data right was not optional. Any errors would propagate directly into scheme valuations with real financial impact. That discipline of precision and correctness in structured data carries forward into building data models across cloud platforms, from transformation layers through to reporting, where accuracy and consistency are treated as non-negotiable.
